Optical HDMI (30m)
Optical HDMI is our preferred solution for handling longer run of connecting visual equipment
HDMI is now the most common way of connecting visual equipment together, but the signal itself was never designed to run long distances. Standard copper HDMI cables are only reliable up to 10m lengths.
Optical HDMI is our preferred solution for handling longer runs. The signal travels down a fiber-optic cable, with converters built into the connectors at either end.
We think the simplicity is the biggest advantage, with no separate converter boxes. It is literally “plug and play” with power for the transmission being automatically provided by the HDMI source. One other benefit is that the optical signal is immune to electrical interference and ground loops. This eliminates potential trouble and makes it quicker and easier to get even complex setups up and running.
