The Audix D6 is a fantastic microphone for kick drum and other low tuned sources. It gives a powerful, full bodied sound with plenty of attack and presence.
Every mic will sound best with a well tuned bass drum, but the D6 is remarkably tolerant of poor drums and less than perfect positioning. You can get a strong, usable sound inside the drum, or outside pointing at the skin.
